Here are some tips for prom goers planning
to make their night one to remember. Go to Pre Prom
Checklist to make sure to plan every detail.
If
you are planning to go out to dinner before the prom,
here are some suggestions to find the perfect
restaurant for your tastes and budget. Discuss food
preferences with your date and anyone else sharing your
transportation. For example if your date is a vegetarian,
a steak house is probably not the best choice for dinner.
Dinner reservations eliminate the long wait for a table
that is typical for weekend diners. Even restaurants
that do not take reservations may have a large group
reservation policy (usually for eight guests or more).
Girls, practice walking in a long skirt and heels.
It is so different from the jeans that are worn everyday
that you don't want to fall flat on your face on the
big evening. Try out hairstyles and makeup to make sure
that they work with your look.
Look after yourself by getting plenty of rest the night
before. You want plenty of energy for all of the evening's
activities. Don't let the excitement cloud your best
judgment about things like alcohol, drugs, sex or crazy
driving. If anyone tries to talk you into something
you are not sure is right for you, don't feel pressured
to give in to pressure. It can be a good idea to have
someone you trust on standby to come and get you with
a phone call, no questions asked.
Take along a disposable camera for all of those great
pics of the evening. A cell phone can be a great tool
to keep everyone connected.
